Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH- Book Review
This is one of those cases I have seen the movie but never read the book it was based on. I'm sure many of you know Don Booth's, film The Secret of NIMH, it is one of my favorite movies of all time. I didn't know it was based on a book until recently when I found a copy at once again Open Books.
Mrs. Frisby must find a way to save her sickly son Timothy as he has pneumonia and must stay in bed. The day, their home is to be destroyed by the farmers is quickly approaching but with Timothy stuck in bed they are unable to move to a new home. Mrs. Frisby will seek all the help she can get from crows, owls, and even the mysterious Rats of NIMH to save her family.
I enjoyed this book, the characters I knew from the movie were all there, and I loved the more in depth history of the Rats of NIMH. There is no magic in this book like there was in the movie this book is all about nature vs science. If you are like me and enjoyed the movie you'll likely like this as well. My opinion is I still like the movie more(sorry).
