Harry Potter and The Cursed Child- Book Review

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is a script for a play being sold as a book. It is not in a novel format of any kind just a script. As you can tell, from the title this is on Harry's son Albus(James Potter and Lily are rarely mentioned in this book). Let's check out the plot:

Albus after being the first Potter to be sorted into Slytherin and befriending Scorpius Malfoy is having a hard time fitting in. Not only do the students constantly compare him to his father Harry Potter, he is also struggling with the fact rumors are being spread on his best friend who claim he is the son of Voldemort.

One day Albus overhears a conversation that it was Harry's fault that Cedric Diggory died and with a time turner his life can be spared. Hoping to fix his father's mistake he and Scorpius steal a time turner the Ministry has and go back in time to save Cedric's life. Unfortunately, he ends up making terrible futures by doing so, like Ron and Hermione not being married and Lord Voldemort alive and having taken over the world, where his word is law. Can Albus fix the past and future or will the world be doomed to being under Voldemort's feet?

I was quite cautious  in reading this as it's just a script and not a novel and not even truly written by J.K. Rowling. It  has obvious differences in characters, and in the world it was based on. I will say it was an okay read once I got used to reading a script but it doesn't feel like a true squeal. I will give it a 5/10.
